​Why Tasmania should have an AFL team
Hi my name is Sam and Here’s why I think Tasmania should have their own AFL team. Firstly it is completely unfair that the mainland gets everything they want when they want and how they want. Tasmania needs more attention they should add one more team into the AFL I mean GWS has about a quarter of its population actually into footy unlike Tasmania where about a 3rd of its population actually likes footy and they still got added into AFL.
 
Tasmania has a love to footy. I looked at some average game attendances at Bluntestone and Aurora stadiums Tasmania gets twice the people as spotless stadium dose. So Tasmania would make some money out of our games. It would also make a good atmosphere for the ground.
 
A Tasmanian footy team would be excellent idea for new Tasmanian AFL supporters. We only one Tasmanian sports team. Also for all the young talents in Tasmania that dream they can play in the AFL but are always getting turned down by other clubs. Starting a new AFL with young talents in Tasmania would achieve their dreams.
 
It would also be more affordable for people who can’t afford to travel to the mainland and watch a footy game. A new team that play at blunstone would be much more affordable.
 
With only one Tasmanian sports team that plays only for about 1 mouth. It makes Blunstone arena pretty useless. AFL season is around 8 mouths so it will make the arena useful for fans who enjoy going to blunstone and watching sport . Tasmania is the second oldest state is Australia it deserves more respect for its historic history.
 
An AFL team would be a good idea for tourists coming to watch new sports. They would enjoy Tasmania a lot more if we had an AFL team to watch play. They would go on tours of our stadium learn about how this team formed and so.
 
For sponsors and member ships Tasmania would earn a lot of money because most people in Tasmania love footy and also that would draw in some major sponsorships for our club to enjoy. The sponsorship’s would also mean that they can probably pay for a new big stadium and a training ground.
 
That’s why I think Tasmania should have an AFL team due to tourism and money. Thank you for reading
