As I said in the previous post do not scare off your clients with a big price. It’s like walking around with a big sign saying “pick me pick me “not a good look. Think to yourself if you were a market holder what would you pay for a full day. Discussing things with your family members is a good idea, sharing opinions along with making minor changes to your plans. Here are some examples of what I would charge: 1 Hour: 5 dollars 2 hours: 10 dollars 3 hours: 15 dollars 4 hours: 20 dollars As you can see doubling is my technique but everyone has there on techniques. I know all of us love receiving money and lots of it but when it comes to business you can’t pick and choose. Do your best and hope for tip.

Recently I designed a flyer to give out at the Salamanca markets. The flyer was asking if any market holders needed help setting up, packing or simply helping with the customers. Markets are a great place to hand out flyers. Many people and their family indulge in the food and entertainment at the markets. Honestly I think the whole of Hobart is at the Salamanca markets on a Saturday morning and afternoon. Market holders tend to need help on a good day (when the money starts flowing through). Planning the time to hand flyers out is something you need to focus on. If market holders are too busy and have their hands full you should know it’s not a good time, just go back later. I recommend not giving a flyer to a market holder with more than 2-3 people already helping. There’s always that one person that needs an extra hand, such as an old lady selling her knit wear or a man selling jewellery. 50% percent of market holders are quite picky with choosing people to help or they will just give you the look. You don’t want to push them away by pressuring them to take a flyer that’s never a good first impression. How to start a business
Being social with the community around you is a big step in having your own business Make sure you do not become over loaded with endless jobs and have the time, organization, and supplies. Start off with handing out six flyers. The truth is a quarter of the people you gave a flyer to will not even need help. Start off with a reasonable price. Do not scare your clients off with a big price. It takes a long time thinking of jobs to help people with. The best idea is to think about what you're good at. Gardening, mowing the lawn, washing the car, walking the Neighbours dogs these are some great ideas to get your clients thinking. There are two kinds of business. There is the Neighbourhood business and the selling business. The neighbourhood business is the most common business of all, earning money doing little jobs for your friends and community. Selling business is where you cook or create a product and sell it door to door in your neighbourhood. People that start a business often think about combining their skills with another person’s skills. This method is great, but sometimes it can become quite a struggle. Agreeing is not an easy thing when working with someone else and their ideas. If your partner and yourself can agree with each other than your business is going down a good track. I hope this paper helped encourage you to start a business and remember to always check with your parents that you are able to start a business. |
