Every day you might judge someone either by their looks, religion, beliefs, what they wear and even what they do for a living. It might be good or bad but you need to realise what would happen if you said that to them? Will it hurt their feelings? Will it bring their confidence down? Will it even affect you?
I am going to give you an example at how someone can be affected. Let’s say a girl really wanted to become a professional football player but everybody (including the media) tells her she is a girl and girls don’t play football. They tell her she is also too skinny and weak. Eventually the girl starts to lose hope on her dream and gives up. That would be on her mind forever. Some people are strong and would not give up on their dreams, but there are some who could not handle it. For those who have experienced that, let me tell you that the people judging you do not define who you are it defines who they are.
I’m not trying to convince you not to judge someone because in your lifetime you will and even by accident. I believe it is ok to judge someone, but if you are going to verbalize these feelings always think before you speak. You do not know their story or what they have been through. You only walked into a chapter of their story.
Another example is when you judge someone by their religion or where they came from. In my generation Muslims are being judged because some of their people killed innocent people. I get why we judge them, but not all of them are bad. Most of them are innocent and just want to live a normal life. I once heard something on the news this Muslim girl was on the train and she was being judged wearing a burkha. She was also being called a terrorist and other stuff. It would have been an awful experience for her. Imagine if you were in her shoes how would you feel? This is not just happening here in Australia, but in Africa, New Zealand, America, etc. Everyone should be treated like how they're supposed to be. We are all humans even if we are from somewhere else or if we are completely different from each other. You should never judge someone just because you heard it from someone else. Who knows? The person that told you might have not realized what they heard was a rumour or a lie. The only person who does know is the person.
I hope I have made you realise you shouldn’t judge someone by their looks, what they wear, their religion and what their goals are. You don’t know what they have been through or what they have sacrificed.
