  Immigration to Australia has been happening for a long time, why stop it now? People usually leave their country for a good reason not because they want to. The most common reason is because they don’t feel safe in the country they’re living in and they want to move to a safer country. People also migrate to a different country for career opportunities, quality of life, education, family, diversity, security, climate, lifestyle and sports. Australia has such a good reputation for a multicultural country why ruin it?

Australia is known for being a diverse country. Limiting the number of immigrants allowed to come into Australia is really going to take away the meaning of a wonderful multicultural and diverse country. We celebrate Harmony Day to recognise the beauty of our multicultural and diverse country. Limiting the number of immigrants in Australia is doing the opposite of what this day represents and means.

A lot of people in Australia have relatives that live in a different country. If their relative got sick and wasn't capable of looking after themselves they would want to go live with a relative for help. If their relative lived in Australia and they wanted to live with that relative while they were sick, they wouldn't be able to. This is one of the many reasons why immigrants should be able to migrate to Australia.

The excuse that every immigrant coming to Australia is coming to for terrorist attacks is atrocious. One of the reasons why terrorist attacks happen is because they feel oppressed in the country they’re living in. If we allow them to come into the country and make them feel at home and not discriminated against, we can stop this cause from happening. Not every immigrant are planning a terrorist attack, some people just want to live a happy life in a safe country. These are the reasons why i believe we should let more immigrants into Australia.
